For too long communities have been mis-represented in the media creating negative stereotypes and a lack of understanding of contemporary indigenous culture. However, events such as Standing Rock have marked the beginning of an international movement and appreciation for those working peacefully, purposefully, and tirelessly for the protection of Mother Earth.
Our objective is to empower indigenous communities to document their own culture and provide a platform in which they can share their experiences and stories. This is done through our own projects and the Sinchi Fund.
The Sinchi Fund is available exclusively to indigenous peoples who wish to document their own culture via photography, film, animation, audio or written form. Funding ranges from 250 euros to 2000 euros.
