Greenoxx

Greenoxx is a non-governmental organization dedicated to combat climate change, an integrant of the Ammando Foundation in Dublin, Ireland, formed by more than 1800 nonprofits worldwide, and a member of the GEF CSO Network dedicated to safeguard the global environment and promote sustainable development.

In 2012, Greenoxx launched The Madre de Dios Amazon REDD project, which consists of 100.000 hectares of  rainforest, located in the Peruvian Amazon, only 400 km from the historic sanctuary of Macchu Picchu, the “Lost City of the Incas”. The area is located less than 30 km to the side of the new inter-oceanic road that has recently united Brazil with the Peruvian coast. The project is within the region that belongs to the Ecological Corridor ‘Vilcabamba- Amboro’, one of the world’s greatest biodiversity hotspots.

This charistmatic boutique project will dramatically reduce deforestation in the Peruvian Amazon and protect the habitat of more than 35 endangered species and the livelihood of local indigenous communities who rely on natural resources for their survival. Saving the forest is truly the right move to make, help us to protect this unique reservoir of biodiversity and climate change and to mitigate climate change.
